A warm greeting by your hosts welcomes
you to this historic country farmhouse, homestead of the Trexlers's, dating from the late 18th century
and set in the lush farmlands of Berks County, Pennsylvania, only minutes from the center of Allentown.
Close to many attractions and activities and a short drive from Kutztown and Reading. Longswamp is also the
closest lodging to Bear Creek Ski Area and within a few miles of many Lehigh
Valley Wineries, major antique outlets, Dorney Park and several fine
restaurants. The Innkeepers can provide directions!
Guests enjoy a full hot breakfast in our newly decorated dining room at
private tables. There are five acres to walk, horseback riding nearby,
biking and all the cultural activities of neighboring communities.
Longswamp features five large guest
rooms in the Main House. Away from the Main House, we offer the Hideaway
with a fireplace and private bath. And only a few steps away - the Cottage,
which includes a living room with cable TV & DVD player, bedroom restored with the original ceiling
beams as well as a brick fireplace, an adjoining private bath and a
kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee pot and sink. For families or
couples traveling together there is a second bedroom with a skylight and
private bath on the second floor. The Hideaway and Cottage were formerly a way-station on the
underground railroad. There is, in addition, a suite in what was formerly a
horse stall in the huge, old barn featuring living room, bedroom and
private bath. All of our
accommodations feature Queen beds, private baths and air conditioning. In
addition, several now have TV’s, microwaves, mini-refrigerators, and DVP's.
